Ohio Bottleneck - Purple/Grey |
Size: 2 1/8" long x 1" wide
Provenance: Greene County, Ohio. X: McMinn
Condition: Super. Not sure of material, so I will call it "heat treated bloodstone". Most of these wonderful Ohio bottlenecks were heat treated and many flint ridge. Just about my favorite Ohio form. There is a COA from Jeff Baker calling this piece an Ashtabula. Buyer can have paper if they want it, or I can add it to my shredded COA file.

Hopewell Cache Blade |
Size: 2 3/8" long x 1 7/16" wide
Provenance: Ross County, Ohio
Condition: Perfect. An extremely high grade of variegated Mercer flint was used on this fine blade. I believe it to be a fort ancient piece b/c of the extreme thinness and super flaking w/o a beveled resharpening.

Knight Island - Intrusive Mound Culture |
Size: 2 1/2" long x 15/16" wide

Eared Paleo |
Size: 2 1/4" long x 7/8" wide
Provenance: Indiana. Jeff Baker COA(g-9.5) if you want me to include it.
Condition: Super. This piece is exceptionally well flaked, thin, and covered with great patination. Ears on the bottom leave some question as to the typology. It is fine enough to almost be Cumberland, but it lacks long flutes. I think it is too nice to Beaver Lake, and the ears throw it off for a Paleo Lance form. It is clearly a later Paleo piece, and extremely fine.

Pentagonal |
Size: 1 5/8" long x 1 5/16" wide
Provenance: Found near Circleville, Ohio.
Condition: Super. Pentagonals like this are centered around Ohio, and considered a classic Ohio form. The resharpening pattern for these guys is unique, and a great study. This one is perfect with the rarer concave base. I'm thinking it is Delaware chert, but not sure.
